The staff of Santa Barbara Pet Hospital wishes to join the millions of other people around the world in mourning the loss of Naturalist Steve Irwin, otherwise known as “The Crocodile Hunter.” Steve was killed on September 4th, 2007 during the filming of an undersea documentary, when he was fatally wounded by a Stingray barb to his heart. Steve made enormous strides in the fight for wildlife conservation, and his dedication to animals around the world was an inspiration to our staff. We encourage our clients to find out more about programs that can benefit the animal conservation and education that Steve was so passionate about. Our condolences go out to Steve’s wife Terri and his two children, Bindi and Bob.

Santa Barbara Pet Hospital recently collected over 400 dollars in donations for Wildlife Warriors. We wish to thank everyone who helped our fundraising drive. Donations are still needed by the Australia Zoo--if you'd like to help, please check out the organization's website, where you can make an online contribution or get an address to mail one in.
