It is with the deepest sorrow and regret that we announce the loss of our previous Hospital Director, Dr. David R. Mutti. Dr. Mutti passed away on Friday, April 21, 2006 after a long battle with cancer, and his loss is felt deeply by his family, friends, employees, clients, and patients.

      Dr. Mutti received his Bachelor of Sciences and his Veterinary Medical Degree from the University of California at Davis and began practicing here at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital after his graduation in 1973. He continued to practice until November of 2004, then began working in management after his diagnosis.

     A talented veterinarian, Dr. Mutti was well-known for his extreme compassion and skill with patients. He was also a wonderful teacher and a valued mentor. He loved the veterinary field and strove to share that love with others whenever possible. He made Santa Barbara Pet Hospital a wonderful place to work and learn, often challenging his employees to go the extra mile and learn something new. Dr. Mutti was also a wonderful friend with a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, but will never be forgotten.
