Our Hospital Director Dr. Sally Mobraaten received her Veterinary Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. She has practiced veterinary medicince at Hickory Veterinary Hospital and Ark Animal Hospital in Pennsylvania and at Carpinteria Veterinary Hospital in Carpinteria. She has three collies, one cat, and fish. Her hobbies include showing her dogs in obedience and agility, gardening, and drawing.


Dr. Sherry Trujillo graduated in 1996 with her D.V.M. degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. She also received her M.P.V.M. and B.S. degrees at UC Davis. Prior to starting at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital in 2001, she lived and worked in Phoenix, AZ. She is married with two children, two dogs, two cats, and a Cuban tree frog. Her hobbies include playing French horn in the SB City College Orchestra and hiking.

Dr. Anja Hunter graduated from Ross University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She specializes in holistic veterinary medicine and herbal therapies, but practices traditional veterinary medicine as well. She is skilled at acupuncture. She is married with two children.


Practice Manager Rebecca Rockwell has been employed at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since February of 2002.  She graduated from Carpinteria High School and majored in Zoology at SBCC before pursuing a job in the veterinary field full time. She credits her former boss and mentor, Dr. David Mutti, with further cultivating her lifelong interest in Veterinary medicine. She has three dogs, Frodo, Myles and Skipper; one cat, Aslan; and a rabbit, Alice Grace. Rebecca's first novel, The Outlaw's Wife, was published in 2008, and her second, In the Shadow of Death Alley, was just released in September of 2011. A self-taught musician, Rebecca plays the guitar, the Sitar, and the banjo. Her other hobbies include collecting Humphrey Bogart films and memorabilia, anything to do with India and its art and culture, listening to music, writing, reading, drawing, oil painting, cooking Indian food and spending time with her family, friends and pets.


Technician Manager Julie Birmingham has been employed at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since November of 2005. A former bookkeeper, she recently switched career fields to begin training as a veterinary technician. Julie has two dogs, Desmond and Rocky. Her interests include pit bulls, jogging, reading and anything to do with Star Trek.


Brian Ruckriegel has been a veterinary assistant at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since 2006. He enjoys snowboarding.


Veterinary Assistant Rickey Lee has been employed at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since 2006. He has two dogs, Bruce and Sparky, and welcomed a baby daughter, Maliah, in March of  2009.


Veterinary Assitant Kate has been employed at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since 2007. She received a B.A. in studio art from WSU in 2005. She has one dog, Ani, and one cat, Mordecai. Her hobbies include photography and art.

 


Veterinary Assistant Amy has been employed at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since 2008. Prior to joining our team she was a technician at another hospital for two and a half years, where she met her fiance. Amy studied biological sciences at UCSB and SDSU. She has one dog, Lola. Her hobbies include reading, snowboarding, dancing, camping and wine tasting.


Catherine has been a receptionist at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since early 2009. She graduated from UCSB with a B.S. in aquatic biology in December of 2008. Catherine hails from Seattle, Washington and is an avid Seahawks fan. Catherine has one dog, Bear.
