Our Hospital Director Dr. Sally Mobraaten received her Veterinary Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. She has practiced veterinary medicine at Hickory Veterinary Hospital and Ark Animal Hospital in Pennsylvania and at Carpinteria Veterinary Hospital in Carpinteria. She has three collies, two cats, and fish. Her hobbies include showing her dogs in obedience and agility, gardening, and drawing.

    Dr. Sherry Trujillo graduated in 1996 with her D.V.M. degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. She also received her M.P.V.M. and B.S. degrees at UC Davis. Prior to starting at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital in 2001, she lived and worked in Phoenix, AZ. She is married with two children, two dogs, and two cats. Her hobbies include playing French horn in the SB City College Orchestra and hiking.

    Practice Manager Rebecca Rockwell has been employed at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since February of 2002. She credits her former boss and mentor, Dr. David Mutti, with further cultivating her lifelong interest in Veterinary medicine. She has one dog, Kitsu; two cats, Freddie Mercury and Rei; and two rabbits, Merry and Pippin, as well as seven fish. Rebecca is also an award-winning author of Western historical fiction and has three novels in print: The Outlaw's Wife, In the Shadow of Death Alley, and The Last Desperado. Her third novel, The Last Desperado, won a 2014 Laramie Award for Western Fiction (1st Place - Best Historical Western) as well as First Honorable Mention in the commercial fiction category of the 2014 Eric Hoffer Independent Book Awards. In 2014 she also co-authored the autobiography of veteran Hollywood Stunt Coordinator Mickey Gilbert. A self-taught musician, Rebecca plays the guitar and the sitar. Her other hobbies include drawing, listening to her favorite musical artists Michael Jackson and Queen; reading, studying history, and cooking. She is also one of the biggest Star Wars nerds she knows and enjoys attending Star Wars-related events as well as going to Disneyland regularly.

Technician/Assistant Supervisor and Registered Veterinary Technician Kate has been employed at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since 2007. She received a B.A. in studio art from WSU in 2005. She has one dog, Ellie, and one cat, Noodle. Her hobbies include training her dog in agility and trick dog; photography and art.

Brian Ruckriegel has been a veterinary assistant at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since 2006. He enjoys snowboarding in his spare time. 

 

 


 

Receptionist/Assistant Gabe Medina has been employed at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since 2018. Gabe recently graduated from UCSB and does photography in his spare time.

Veterinary Assistant Ben Magdaleno has been employed at Santa Barbara Pet Hospital since 2017. He has two dogs, Chewby and Jo-Jo, and many exotic fish and reptiles. Ben is currently working toward obtaining his CVA (Certified Veterinary Assistant).
